Raise Cain ( to disturb others and cause trouble ... )

Adam is the first man in the old Judeo-Christian bible and he raised a son named Cain. Adam and Cain fought often and their relationship was filled with trouble. To "raise cain" is to cause trouble and disturb others. Example: "Have you two boys been out raising cain again?"
