A Standing Offer ( an offer you can choose to take whenever you want it ... )

"A Standing Offer"

A standing offer is an offer that will be waiting for you to take whenever you want it.

Example: "You have a standing offer to join us for dinner whenever you like."

When you are offered something, and told that it will be there for you to take later, it is a standing offer.

Example: "I have had a standing offer to go into business with my uncle, and I think I'm going to do it."

You don't have to accept the offer right away when it is a standing offer, because it will be waiting for you and you can choose to take it later.

Example: "We want you to take this job, but you don't have to decide now. It is a standing offer."
