Bad As All That ( as bad as people are saying ... )
"bad as all that"



As bad as all that refers to how bad people are saying that it is. Example: "I've heard it is the worst place to go to school." Reply: "It's not as bad as all that."

It is "not as bad as all" that when the thing is not as bad as those people are saying. Example: "Is it really such a bad neigborhood?" Reply: "Yes, it really is as bad as all that."

When people are saying that it is really bad, we refer to how bad people are saying it is with "as bad as all that." Example: "It must have been hard growing up in the 30s." Reply: "We had a lot of fun back then. It wasn't as bad as all that."
