Bait And Switch ( pretend to give one things, then give another thing ... )
"bait and switch"



"The bait and switch" is a trick where you pretend to give one but you give something different. Example: "I thought I was buying a new one." Reply: "It looks like they gave you the bait and switch."

"The bait and switch" describes One way to cheat people from their money which is to pretend to give them one thing ("the bait") but to change it (" and switch") to give them something else. Example: "Be careful with street vendors here. They like to give you the bait and switch."
