Call Someone Or Something Off ( cancel it; decide not to do it ... )
"call someone or something off"



You "call it off" when you decide to not do the thing you were planning to do. Example: "I thought you had a date tonight?" Reply: "We called it off."

When you agree to not do what you were planning to do, you call it off. Example: "What happened to the soccer game?" Reply: "It was called off due to rain." Another example: "I really don't feel like going. Let's call it off."
