"Call The Roll"

A person who calls the roll says each name on the list and waits to hear each person respond.

Example: "Everyone be quiet. I'm going to call the roll."

Example: "Are any of your students missing?" Reply: "I don't know. We haven't called the roll yet."

Example: "Would you like to call the roll today?"
