Easier Said Than Done ( talking about it is easier than doing it; to do the thing takes a lot of work; it is easier to talk about it than to actually do it ... )

"Easier Said Than Done"



Easier said than done means that it is easier to talk about that thing than to do it.

Example: "We should dig a garden in the back yard. That would be great." Reply: "Easier said than done."



Easier said than done means people often talk about what they will do, but the real work is to actually do the thing.

Example: "Why stop with a master's degree? You should get your PhD." Reply: "Getting a doctorate is easier said than done."



Easier said than done means that thing which you are talking about is easy to talk about but much harder to do.



It is much easier to talk about doing that thing than to actually do it.
