"Paying The Price"

"Paying the price" is suffering for what happened.

Example: "If you drink and drive, you will pay the price."

Example: "You've broken a lot of hearts, but someday you will pay the price."

Example: "You drank too much last night?" Reply: "Yes, and now I'm paying the price."

Example: "She has been smoking a lot for years. Now she's paying the price."
